Amman: Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission (IEC), Musa Maaytah, emphasized that political parties are integral to the Kingdom's ongoing political modernization efforts. He called for their unified efforts to ensure sustainable progress in the electoral process. According to Jordan News Agency, Maaytah's remarks were made in an IEC statement released on Sunday, following his meeting with a group of political parties. The meeting was part of the commission's dialogues aimed at assessing and refining the procedures and mechanisms of the electoral process for the Lower House of Representatives elections scheduled for 2024. Maaytah highlighted the need to build on the positive outcomes from the Kingdom's parliamentary elections held on September 1 and to address any deficiencies to ensure the sustainable development of the electoral process in the future. He also announced the launch of a party-centered training program designed to enhance the capabilities of youth membe rs in managing electoral campaigns. Maaytah urged political parties to take advantage of this initiative to improve their performance in the upcoming parliamentary elections. During the interaction, party representatives appreciated the IEC's engagement and offered a series of recommendations aimed at expediting procedures and enhancing the electoral process in the Kingdom moving forward.
