Baghdad, The National Security Service announced the arrest of 28 blackmailers in nine governorates. A statement by the Service's media stated that "based on a complaint received by the National Security Agency, our detachments in Basra Governorate were able to thwart an electronic blackmail operation and arrest the accused after he blackmailed a man for an amount of 10 million dinars in exchange for not publishing personal photos of his family on social media, as our detachments were able to lure the accused into an ambush and overthrow him while he was receiving an amount of 750 thousand dinars as an initial payment." The statement added, "Our Service also followed up on complaints received via the free hotline (131) and the e-mail {click here} and was able to arrest 27 blackmailers in (Kirkuk, Nineveh, Basra, Baghdad, Wasit, Karbala, Muthanna, Babylon, and Anbar)".
