Islamabad: India and Pakistan announced on Saturday they agreed to a "full and immediate" ceasefire following US-brokered talks that went through the night, US President Donald Trump wrote on his account on social media.
According to Jordan News Agency, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed on X that the two countries had reached a ceasefire deal as announced by Trump.
The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the ceasefire will take effect at 5:00 PM local time, but gave no details on the terms of the deal or the areas it covered.
The agreement came at a time the region saw escalating tensions between the two neighboring countries, making the agreement a momentous step towards calm and to make way for diplomacy.
