New york: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday emphasized the necessity of global action to address the rights violations faced by Palestinians, highlighting the increasing threats and the lack of adherence to international law and fundamental human values.

According to Jordan News Agency, President Subianto delivered his remarks at the opening of the United Nations General Assembly's 80th session. He addressed the ongoing crisis in Gaza, stating, "The tragic situation continues in Gaza to this day. Palestinians are facing death and pleading with us to save them." He commended the nations that have recognized the State of Palestine, describing such decisions as aligning with history, morality, and justice.

Subianto drew parallels between Indonesia's historical struggles and the current plight of Palestinians, saying, "We know what it means to be deprived of justice. That is why we cannot remain silent when Palestinians are denied justice." He stressed the importance of united efforts and advocated for a more robust United Nations, pointing out Indonesia's role as the largest contributor to UN peacekeeping forces and its commitment to advancing global peace.
