The industrial production index increased by 4.07 percent in the first seven months of 2022, to reach 92.85 points, compared to 89.23 points for the same period in 2021, the Department of Statistics (DoS) reported on Tuesday.
In its monthly report, the DoS attributed the growth to an increase in the production index of the manufacturing sector by 3.40 percent, the extractive industries sector by 8.73 percent, and electricity by 7.76 percent.
The report also indicated that the general index of industrial production of July, 2022 increased by 1.90 percent, to reach 96.36 points, up from 94.56 for the same month in 2021.
