The General Industrial Production Quantities index picked up by 3.36 percent in the first nine months of 2022, reaching 92.86 points against 89.84 in the same period of 2021.
The Department of Statistics said Thursday in its monthly report that the increase was driven by a rise in the production quantities index of transformative industries by 2.71 percent, extractive industries by 7.57 percent, and electricity by 7.54 percent.
On a monthly level, the report showed that the index inched up by 2.64 percent in September 2022, amounting to 92.8 points compared to 90.42 recorded in the same month of last year.
The monthly increase was attributed to a rise in the quantities index of transformative, extractive, and electricity industries with 1.97 percent, 4.31 percent, and 10.52 percent, respectively.
