Amman: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Dr. Mohammad Khalayleh, has announced the commencement of initial registration for Jordanians and residents of the Gaza Strip to perform Hajj, starting next Sunday morning.
According to Jordan News Agency, Khalayleh stated that the registration process will be conducted through the Hajj registration platform (https://hajj.gov.jo/reg), beginning at 10:00 a.m. and closing at 9:00 p.m., continuing until Sunday, October 26. The minister urged eligible applicants to pay a JD200 fee for the original registrant, which is refundable after the registration process concludes. Accompanying pilgrims are exempt from this payment. Payments can be made via “eFawateercom,” or by visiting branches of the Jordan Islamic Bank or Safwa Islamic Bank.
This year’s registration criteria require that the original applicant must have been born on or after December 31, 1980, and should not have previously performed the pilgrimage. A medical certificate from the Ministry of Health, confirming the candidate is free from any disease, is also required, in line with the instructions of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
For Hajj Fund savers, those with a balance of JD3,000 before January 1, 2020, are eligible to register through the link (https://eservices.hajjfund.gov.jo).
