The Federal Integrity Commission announced today the arrest of two officials in the Real Estate Registration Directorate in Diyala Governorate, for manipulating five properties owned by the state. The Commission said in a statement: "A team from the Investigation and Control Division in the Diyala Investigation Office moved to the Real Estate Registration Directorate in the governorate, based on a judicial warrant, to verify the accuracy of information received by the office about the existence of manipulation in state-owned properties." It added, "After verification and scrutiny, the team revealed the accuracy of the information and arrested both the official of the Third Legal Division and the official of organizing the registration registry on the background of their manipulation of properties belonging to the Ministry of Finance." She confirmed that "the two defendants sold five of these properties to citizens, after tampering with and distorting their ownership records." Source: National Iraqi News Agency
