Karak:Mohammad Al-Assasfah Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya and Public Security Directorate Director Maj. Gen. Obaidullah Al-Maaytah conducted a joint press conference on Friday evening at the Karak Governorate headquarters. They provided an update on the security incident involving the terrorist attack on the Greek Orthodox Church in Humud village, Karak Governorate.
According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Faraya began the press conference with prayers for the victims, expressing wishes for the recovery of the injured, and offering condolences to the families affected, the people of Karak, and all Jordanians affected by the incident. He described the attack as a terrorist operation executed by individuals committing a heinous act and emphasized that such cowardly attacks would only reinforce the determination of Jordanians to oppose violence and extremism.
Al-Maaytah reported that the attack resulted in seven fatalities and 34 injuries. He confirmed that efforts were underway to apprehend those responsible for the attack and assured that legal actions would be taken against them once captured.
