Int’l Passenger Transport Terminal Launches Operations in Amman

AMMAN: The International Passenger Transport Terminal in Amman has commenced operations, marking a significant step in regulating the flow of passengers entering and exiting the Kingdom. Alaa Shbilat, Director General of the Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC), inspected the new terminal's operations, emphasizing the importance of organized transportation to facilitate smooth passenger movement.

According to Jordan News Agency, Shbilat met with foreign travel agency owners to discuss the necessity of regulating transportation operations. He highlighted the terminal's role in ensuring that incoming and outgoing passenger flows are orderly. The facility is designed to mirror airport traveler movements and aims to streamline the entry and exit process for foreign vehicles entering and leaving Jordan.

Shbilat further elaborated that the initiative will oversee all Jordanian land crossings, with specific routes designated for vehicles from Iraq, Syria, and Saudi Arabia. These vehicles are required to remain overnight at the terminal if they are not transporting passengers, ensuring compliance with regulatory measures.

The Director General also reviewed the procedure for obtaining official "manifests" for each vehicle, which include essential passenger data. This documentation is a critical component of the terminal's operation, ensuring that passenger information is accurately recorded and maintained.
