Iraqi PM Unveils Arab Reconstruction Fund at Baghdad Summit

Baghdad: Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani announced the launch of 18 initiatives aimed at strengthening joint Arab action during an Arab summit in Baghdad. Central to these initiatives is the establishment of an Arab Fund dedicated to post-crisis recovery and reconstruction efforts.

According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Sudani declared Iraq's commitment to contribute $20 million towards the reconstruction of Gaza and an additional $20 million for Lebanon. He emphasized the unprecedented challenges faced by Palestinians, calling for an immediate ceasefire and an end to what he described as Israeli massacres in the Gaza Strip.

Al-Sudani firmly rejected any form of forced displacement of Palestinians and called for lifting the blockade imposed on Gaza. He emphasized that resolving regional crises should begin with the restoration of all rights to the Palestinian people.

Furthermore, Al-Sudani expressed Iraq's support for a ceasefire in Lebanon and reiterated his country's commitment to a stable Syria.
