Irbid Chamber of Industry Organizes Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities in Cooperation with GIZ

Irbid: The Employment and Support Unit at the Irbid Chamber of Industry, in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) - 2030 EJ Programme, organized a job fair specifically focused on integrating and empowering persons with disabilities within the labor market. This initiative is part of continued efforts to foster inclusive employment in the industrial sector.

According to Jordan News Agency, Hani Abu Hassan, Chairman of the Irbid Chamber of Industry, stressed that the initiative aligns with the chamber's vision to enhance the role of industry in achieving comprehensive community development. He underscored the necessity of providing equitable job opportunities for persons with disabilities to ensure their active participation in the productive economy.

Abu Hassan stated, "Persons with disabilities possess real capabilities; what they need is belief in their potential and access to opportunities. At the Irbid Chamber of Industry, we believe in their abilities and call on all industrial enterprises to open their doors to this untapped potential, which serves both business interests and social equity."

He further noted that such events are part of the chamber's broader social mission, complementing its economic role. The chamber is dedicated to strengthening ties between the industrial sector and the local community, particularly given the current economic challenges and rising unemployment rates.

Abu Hassan highlighted that this job fair is one of several employment and awareness initiatives launched in partnership with local and international stakeholders. He added that the continuity of such programs is crucial for promoting social inclusion and economic solidarity.

The event witnessed participation from a GIZ 2030 EJ project team, representatives from various factories and industrial institutions in the Irbid Governorate, along with job seekers with disabilities. Attendees were introduced to available employment opportunities and engaged in preliminary interviews in an environment that respected both human dignity and professional standards.
