Irbid Industrial Exports See 8.9% Growth in First Half of 2026

Irbid: Industrial exports from Irbid rose 8.9% during the first half of 2026 to $590.1 million, up from $541.9 million in the same period last year, according to the Irbid Chamber of Industry.

According to Jordan News Agency, Chamber President Hani Abu Hassan reported that the Chamber issued 7,630 certificates of origin between January and the end of June. The leather and garment sector was the largest contributor to exports at $518 million, followed by food, agricultural and livestock industries with $34 million, and pharmaceutical and medical supplies exceeding $17 million.

The United States remained the largest market for these exports, importing goods worth more than $592 million. Other significant markets included the Netherlands with $27.3 million, Germany with $21.2 million, Saudi Arabia with $16.4 million, and Canada with $14.4 million.

Al Hassan Industrial City accounted for the largest share of these exports at $568 million. This was followed by Cyber City, which contributed more than $19.3 million, and the Chamber's main office, which accounted for over $4.4 million.

Abu Hassan noted that the sector's continued growth, despite regional and global economic challenges, reflects the resilience of Jordanian industry. This growth is supported by efforts to improve competitiveness, expand into new markets, and diversify exports.
