Irbid: The value of certificates of origin issued by the Irbid Chamber of Industry in November reached $98.1 million, marking a 12% increase compared to $87.6 million in the same period last year, according to the Chamber's report. According to Jordan News Agency, the number of certificates of origin issued also rose significantly, totaling 1,359 certificates last month compared to 1,079 during November of the previous year. The knitwear and leather sector maintained its dominance in exports, contributing $86.9 million to the total, followed by therapeutic industries and medical supplies at $3.6 million, and food and agricultural supplies at $3.4 million. Other sectors contributing to the export portfolio included chemical industries, cosmetics, engineering and electrical industries, plastic and rubber industries, construction, packaging, paper and cardboard products, and mining industries. Al-Hassan Industrial City accounted for over 95% of the exports, with Cyber City contributing less than 4%. Chairper son of the Irbid Chamber of Industry, Hani Abu Hassan, highlighted that the overall growth in export values is largely attributed to the significant increase in four key industrial sectors, which together represent about 94% of the governorate's industrial exports. Abu Hassan noted that exports under the Arab trade agreement saw a 29% rise, reaching approximately $8.5 million last month compared to $6.6 million in November of the previous year. He added that exports facilitated through various trade agreements accounted for 79.8% of the total exports.
