Irbid:Industrial exports from Irbid have shown a significant increase, reaching $934.1 million in the first nine months of 2026, marking a 7.3% rise compared to the same period in 2025, when exports were valued at $870.6 million.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Irbid Chamber of Industry issued 12,072 certificates of origin from January to September 2026. Chairman Hani Abu Hassan highlighted the leading role of the leather and garment industries, which contributed $823 million to the governorate's total exports. Additionally, food, agricultural, and livestock industries contributed $50 million, while pharmaceutical industries and medical supplies added more than $26.6 million.
Chemical industries and cosmetics exported goods worth over $21 million, followed by plastics and rubber industries with more than $6.5 million. The engineering, electrical, and information technology industries had exports exceeding $2.7 million. Construction industries accounted for $2.5 million in exports, while packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies industries reached $1 million. The mining industries contributed $222,000, with the wood and furniture industries generating $106,000.
The United States emerged as the top destination for Irbid's industrial exports, receiving shipments valued at more than $634 million. The Netherlands followed with $37.6 million, Germany with $32.8 million, Saudi Arabia with $23.5 million, and Canada with $21.6 million.
Al-Hassan Industrial Estate was the primary source of these exports, accounting for $898 million, followed by Cyber City with more than $29.8 million, and the chamber's headquarters with over $6.3 million.
Chairman Abu Hassan noted that the growth in exports, despite facing economic and regional challenges, underscores the industrial sector's resilience and ability to sustain its presence in global markets. Efforts to enhance product competitiveness and streamline production processes have been crucial in adapting to global trade changes.
Moreover, Abu Hassan emphasized the favorable industrial investment environment in Jordan, facilitated by streamlined procedures to maintain product competitiveness. The chamber is actively working with government and partner institutions to explore new markets and diversify export destinations.
