Amman: Israel's decision to halt all humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza constitutes a "deliberate starvation strategy" and violates its ceasefire commitments, Gaza's Government Media Office declared Sunday.
According to Jordan News Agency, the suspension of aid through the Karam Abu Salem crossing represents "a new form of collective punishment" against Gaza's 2.4 million residents who now depend entirely on humanitarian assistance for survival, according to the official statement.
"This blockade effectively weaponizes hunger against a civilian population that has already lost access to all local food production capacity," the Media Office stated, characterizing the move as a "flagrant violation of international humanitarian law."
The statement highlighted that more than 100 Palestinians have died during the ceasefire period while citing "systematic breaches" of the humanitarian protocol that has prevented essential shelter materials and rescue equipment from entering Gaza.
The Media Office called on ceasefire mediators to enforce Israel's compliance with all agreement provisions, while urging unified Arab and international pressure to end what it described as "an extension of policies of ethnic cleansing and genocide."
Israeli authorities implemented the aid suspension across all crossing points, blocking food, fuel, medicine, and other critical supplies from reaching Gaza's population, which international aid organizations have warned faces catastrophic hunger conditions across much of the territory.
