Israeli army demolishes UNIFIL observation tower in Lebanon

An Israeli army bulldozer on Sunday deliberately demolished an observation tower and perimeter fence surrounding a UN site in the Lebanese town of Marwahin, UNIFIL said. "Once again, we remind the Israeli army and all actors of their obligations to ensure the safety and security of UN personnel and property and to respect the inviolability of UN premises at all times," UNIFIL said in a statement. Violating a UN site and damaging UN assets is a flagrant violation of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 1701," according to the UNIFIL statement. Source: Jordan News Agency
