Gaza City: The Israeli army killed at least 43 more Palestinians in the blockaded Gaza Strip on Monday, the last day of Eid al-Adha, a major Islamic holiday, medics said. A medical source reported that eight people were shot dead in the Al-Alam area near an aid distribution point run by the Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation in western Rafah.
According to Anadolu Agency, Gaza's government has accused the foundation of aiding Israel in targeting civilians under the guise of humanitarian aid due to the high numbers of casualties near such aid distribution centers. In another incident, Al-Awda Hospital stated that three individuals were killed and nine others injured in an Israeli strike targeting civilians in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
Additionally, 31 people were reported injured by Israeli army fire near an Israeli-American aid distribution point in the Netzarim Corridor in central Gaza. The Gaza Interior Ministry confirmed that another three people, including two police officers, were killed in an Israeli strike while on duty in the Nuseirat refugee camp.
A Palestinian was also killed in an Israeli attack in the town of Abasan, located in the southern city of Khan Younis, according to a medical source. The official news agency Wafa, citing medical sources, reported that 12 people, including women and children, were killed and several others injured in attacks in Khan Younis. Another victim, a woman, succumbed to her injuries from an earlier airstrike in the same city.
Local sources indicated that Israeli drones fired upon a marketplace in the Shejaiya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, with medics confirming four fatalities in the Shejaiya and al-Tuffah neighborhoods. In the Al-Zaitoun neighborhood of Gaza City, Israeli airstrikes claimed the lives of three civilians.
An Israeli drone strike targeted a tent sheltering displaced civilians in a camp in Khan Younis, killing eight Palestinians, including four women, and wounding several others, as reported by medical sources. With these attacks occurring on the fourth day of Eid al-Adha, Gazans have endured heavy bombardment by Israeli forces, which has resulted in nearly 150 fatalities over the holiday.
The Israeli army has continued its offensive against Gaza since October 2023, dismissing international calls for a ceasefire. This campaign has resulted in the deaths of nearly 55,000 Palestinians, the majority being women and children. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Furthermore, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its actions in the enclave.
