Nabatieh: An Israeli drone strike on Friday targeted a vehicle in southern Lebanon's Nabatieh district, resulting in the death of one person, as reported by state news agency NNA. The drone launched a guided missile at a car near the eastern entrance of the town of Sayr al-Gharbiyeh, killing the driver.

According to Anadolu Agency, the strike followed an incident a day earlier in which two Lebanese army personnel were killed and two others injured. This occurred when a downed Israeli drone exploded while being inspected in the border town of Naqoura. The explosion resulted in the death of an officer and a soldier, while two more troops were wounded.

Cross-border firing between Hezbollah and Israeli forces began in October 2023, following the Hamas attacks. The conflict escalated into a full-scale war by September 2024, leading to the deaths of more than 4,000 people and injuring around 17,000. Although a ceasefire was reached in November, Israeli forces have conducted near-daily attacks in southern Lebanon, claiming to target Hezbollah activities.

Under the terms of the truce, Israel was supposed to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon by January. However, it only partially removed its troops and continues to maintain a military presence at five border outposts.
