Israeli Forces Intensify Actions in West Bank and Gaza

Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces have intensified their operations in the West Bank and Gaza, resulting in the death of 45 Palestinians and injuries to 232 others within a single week. The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Media Observatory on Israeli Crimes Against Palestinians reported that between July 28 and August 3, 2026, 45 Palestinians were killed, with 211 wounded in the Gaza Strip and 21 more in the West Bank. The ongoing conflict has seen a total of 74,526 Palestinians killed and 179,198 injured since October 7, 2023.

According to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the Israeli forces conducted 344 incursions into West Bank cities and villages over the week, arresting 162 Palestinians. The OIC documented 134 attacks and 22 settler activities, contributing to 1,052 crimes across various West Bank regions.

In addition to human casualties, the Israeli occupation forces demolished 17 houses, a horse farm, nine barns, and fences in the West Bank. They occupied nine homes, issued confiscation orders for 12 plots of land amounting to 164,515 dunams, and confiscated several assets, including a road roller, a vehicle, and a mobile home. Land was bulldozed in areas such as Qalqilya and near the Jalazone camp to pave colonial roads, with settlers expanding settlement outposts in Ramallah, Qalqilya, Nablus, Salfit, and Jerusalem.

The Israeli forces detained students and staff at the Qalandia Technical Training Institute, operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), and shut down the Holy Quran Radio station in Qalqilya. Additionally, settlers attacked a six-year-old girl in Masafer Yatta, causing injuries and fractures, and shot a child near Al-Mughayyir.

The OIC reported attacks on places of worship, where extremist settlers targeted the Armenian Church in Jerusalem. Settlers also released livestock into residential areas, damaged vehicles, and destroyed greenhouses. Fires were set to agricultural plots and infrastructure in Ramallah, Nablus, and Hebron.

In Salfit and Ramallah, settlers cut down trees and seized vehicles and equipment. Public services were disrupted as settlers cut a water pipeline in the northern Jordan Valley and damaged electrical infrastructure in Salfit and Madama. Mobile homes were erected in several areas to expand settlement outposts.

Settlers seized property in various locations, including a house in Deir Ammar, Ramallah, and a plot of land in Hebron. They transformed a spring in Al-Bireh into a recreational area and announced new colonial outposts in Kedumim and near the apartheid wall by Faqoua. Building materials were brought to expand a settlement outpost near Taybeh.
