Israel’s Airstrikes in Gaza Result in 13 More Palestinian Deaths

Gaza City: The Israeli army has intensified its military operations in the Gaza Strip, killing at least 13 Palestinians in recent airstrikes. This escalation follows a deadly 24-hour period during which 100 Palestinians were killed, according to medics.

According to Anadolu Agency, the recent airstrikes targeted various locations within Gaza. In Deir al-Balah city and the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, three people were killed in two separate attacks on civilian groups, as reported by a medical source. Further, Israeli shelling in the Shujaiya neighborhood of eastern Gaza City resulted in the death of one Palestinian and injuries to several others.

An Israeli drone strike in the Al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City claimed three additional lives. The official Palestinian news agency Wafa, citing medical sources, reported that five people died in an airstrike on a home in Beit Lahia town in the northern Gaza Strip. Rescue teams are currently working to save a woman trapped under the rubble.

In a related incident, Israeli artillery shelling in western Khan Younis city in southern Gaza resulted in the death of a Palestinian girl and injuries to four others, who were residing in tents for displaced people. Local sources also noted that two fishermen sustained injuries from Israeli navy fire off the Khan Younis coast.

The Israeli military's actions have extended to demolishing Palestinian homes and buildings in southern Rafah city and the eastern areas of Gaza City. This series of attacks follows a broader military campaign that has resulted in the deaths of nearly 52,800 people, primarily women and children, since October 7, 2023.

The International Criminal Court has previously issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its actions in the enclave.
