Aqaba: In its first-ever visit to the Gulf of Aqaba, the Italian ship "Amerigo Vespucci" docked at the Aqaba Cruise Terminal on Wednesday. The ship is on a trip that will visit over 30 ports in 28 countries across five continents.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Italian Navy ship will remain in Aqaba for three days, serving as a training facility and ambassador for UNESCO, UNICEF, and Italy. The "Amerigo Vespucci" provides traditional training for naval officer students, promoting Italian excellence in cultural, artistic, historical, and economic fields.
An official reception ceremony is scheduled for Thursday morning, followed by a press conference led by Italian Ambassador Luciano Pizzuti. On Friday, the vessel will be open for visits by the public and residents of Aqaba, with entry available over two periods.
