IUCN 1st Meeting Held to Advance National Environmental Cooperation

Amman: In the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Alia bint Al Hussein, National Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) on Wednesday held its first meeting, chaired by Minister of Environment Muawiya Radaideh.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting brought together committee members and IUCN representatives as part of Jordan's efforts to strengthen national coordination in protecting nature and conserving biodiversity. The committee, which was established by a Cabinet decision, seeks to support environmental policy implementation and enhance collaboration with international conservation bodies.

Talking to the participants, Princess Alia valued the two sides' work, acknowledging their role in preserving biodiversity and developing global partnerships. Meanwhile, Radaideh emphasized the committee's role in aligning national efforts with IUCN goals and implementing initiatives to protect Jordan's natural resources. Radaideh also reiterated the ministry's commitment to supporting the committee's work and ensuring success of its mission.
