Damascus: A delegation from the Jordanian Construction Contractors Association (JCCA) discussed in Damascus with the Syrian Construction Contractors Syndicate, ways to enhance joint cooperation and raise the level of professional relations.
According to Jordan News Agency, a JCCA statement issued on Tuesday indicated that the meeting discussed mechanisms for opening a permanent liaison office for the association at the Syrian syndicate's headquarters in Damascus. The statement added that this step will serve the interests of Jordanian contractors wishing to work in the Syrian market and contribute to facilitating professional contact, exchanging expertise, and implementing joint projects.
The JCCA Secretary, Dr. Anas Qrum, stated that the office complements the efforts launched by the association's head, Fouad Duwairi, during his previous visit to Damascus. Qrum mentioned that the previous talks called for integrating the two countries' construction sectors and removing obstacles facing Jordanian contractors engaged in Syria's reconstruction projects.
Qrum further noted that the JCCA's liaison office in Damascus will represent a practical move, reflecting the two sides' strong relations. He stated that the office will also provide a database and accurate information for Jordanian contractors, and directly represent them in the Syrian market, especially given the government's commitment to contribute to Syria's reconstruction.
On its long-term vision, Qrum stated that the JCCA places remarkable importance on expanding its members' work horizons, especially amid the available opportunities in the Syrian market, which would serve both Jordanian and Syrian contractors and strengthen their partnerships.
