JCD Seizes Large Quantities of Expired Items in Central Region.

Gaza: In the central region: The Customs Department (JCD) announced its workers in the Anti-Smuggling Directorate, in cooperation and coordination with the Kingdom's security departments, successfully seized large quantities of expired food items and medicines. According to Jordan News Agency, the confiscated items are estimated at 1,000 kilograms of cocoa and a total of about 11,000 packages of medical preparations and drugs, which were stored in poor conditions, as per the JCD statement on Tuesday. The department also seized approximately 76,000 expired plastic medical syringes and substantial quantities of hookah tobacco unfit for human consumption, estimated at around 2,000 kilograms. During the crackdown, customs agents seized these quantities following an extensive process of searching, investigating, and monitoring. This operation also led to the arrest of the suspects involved, who were referred to the competent authorities in preparation for their transfer to the judiciary. The department emphasi zed that customs personnel in the Kingdom's various centers are working diligently alongside state institutions to protect citizens' health, primarily from smugglers and illegal traders who endanger public lives in violation of the law provisions.
