JCDC Completes Biosafety Training Program for National Laboratories

Amman: The Jordan Center for Disease Control (JCDC) announced the completion of a series of training workshops focused on laboratory biosafety and biosecurity, conducted under the "One Health" approach.

According to Jordan News Agency, the two-week program involved trainers and participants from various sectors, including human, veterinary, environmental, and other health fields. The initiative aimed to strengthen intersectoral cooperation and enhance national health security, adhering to World Health Organization standards.

The JCDC emphasized that the program's goal was to build national capacity and improve staff skills to meet global biosafety requirements. The initiative also aimed to enhance preparedness for health threats and epidemics. These workshops were supported by the WHO as part of its cooperation with Jordan to promote best practices in One Health, which emphasizes the protection of people, animals, and the environment.
