JD20 Million Investment Boosts Food Industry in Al Muwaqar Industrial Estate

Al muwaqar: Minister of Investment, Dr. Tariq Abu Ghazaleh, on Thursday attended the signing ceremony of a significant investment agreement in the food industry sector, with a capital influx surpassing JD20 million. The event was also graced by the director of the investing company and Uday Obeidat, the acting Director General of the Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation (JIEC).

According to Jordan News Agency, Dr. Abu Ghazaleh highlighted that this initiative marks a pivotal addition to the food industry sector, substantially contributing to enhancing food security. The project is expected to foster community development, stimulate economic growth, and create sustainable employment opportunities, beginning with approximately 50 jobs in its early stages and expanding to around 500 jobs once fully operational.

The minister emphasized the collaborative efforts of Jordan's ministries and institutions in supporting and empowering local investors. He noted that the Ministry of Investment is actively simplifying procedures and facilitating the investor journey within a comprehensive framework of legislation and investment incentives, aligned with the Economic Modernization Vision's objectives.

Dr. Abu Ghazaleh further stated that the project, located in Al Muwaqar Industrial Estate, comes at a time of rapid local investment growth. This development sends a strong message of confidence in Jordan's vibrant investment environment, characterized by legislative stability and robust infrastructure.

Ehab Alshurafa, the director of the investing company, stated that the new venture will be constructed on a 46-dunum plot of land, featuring the main food processing facility along with several supporting plants. Alshurafa emphasized that this project extends the company's history of successful investments in the Kingdom, underscoring the significance of national investment in bolstering the local economy and community development, as well as providing both direct and indirect job opportunities.

Alshurafa also commended the government's support and the Ministry of Investment's efforts to enhance the investment climate and support local investors, in close collaboration with the Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation and other pertinent institutions.
