Muscat:Amman The Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) has concluded a study tour in Oman aimed at learning from the country's digital transformation and support strategies for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
According to Jordan News Agency, the JEDCO team engaged with various Omani stakeholders, including the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, OMRAN Group, Visit Oman, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada), and the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. Discussions focused on digital platforms and services designed to help small businesses expand their market presence through technology.
The delegation conducted field visits to examine real-world examples of local entrepreneurship in Oman, such as eco-lodges, heritage crafts, and honey production ventures. These visits offered valuable insights into the adoption of digital tools by small businesses and the management of operational challenges.
JEDCO expressed that the insights gained from the visit will enhance its capacity to develop targeted, technology-driven support programs to improve the competitiveness and growth of Jordanian SMEs within the digital economy.
This initiative is part of a collaborative effort to build digital support programs for tourism SMEs in both Amman and Muscat. It was implemented in cooperation with the Youth Projects Development Fund (Sharaka) and funded by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation.
