Jerash: Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, in its current edition, featured over 226 events, which further solidified its position as a "key" cultural and artistic activity in the region and enhanced its presence as a platform for creativity, cultural diversity, and dialogue.
According to Jordan News Agency, Festival Director Yazan Khudair stated the festival continued to fulfill its cultural and national mission within "a high-quality and diverse" program that attracted a "wide" audience from within Jordan and abroad. He noted that events featured artistic and poetry evenings, theatrical and folkloric performances, and cultural and heritage activities targeting various age groups.
Khudair added that the festival witnessed a "large" public turnout, reflecting the public's confidence in this annual event. He attributed the success to the "integrated" efforts of various official and private entities, supporters, partners, and volunteers, highlighting their key contributions.
Dr. Atef Odibat, a member of the Festival's Higher Committee and representative of the local community, emphasized the event's role as a "crucial" cultural and developmental driver. He noted that the festival showcases Jordanian national identity and enhances cultural, tourism, and economic activity in the Jerash governorate.
Head of Jerash Municipal Committee, Mohammad Bani Yassin, highlighted the festival's "positive" impact on various service and commercial sectors in the governorate. He mentioned that the activities contributed to reviving economic and tourism activity, showcasing the cultural and civilization-based heritage that distinguishes the ancient city of Jerash.
