Jerusalem: Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories Sheikh Muhammad Hussein Sunday condemned a decision by far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir banning Mosque loudspeakers, arguing that the call to prayer from mosques, or Adhan, "disturbs" Jews. According to Jordan News Agency, such decisions are part of Israel's arbitrary and oppressive policy, an interference in worship affairs and an attack on religious rituals in the Palestinian territories in general, Hussein, who is also the preacher of Al Aqsa Mosque, said in a statement issued by the Palestinian Fatwa House. The Grand Mufti called on the international community, countries, governments and relevant organizations to intervene to stop attacks by the Israeli occupation authorities on mosques and interference in the worship and religious affairs of Muslims.
