Jerusalem: Jewish settlers on Monday stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque/ Haram Al Sharif in occupied Jerusalem, under escort by Israeli police.
According to Jordan News Agency, dozens of settlers entered the plaza of the mosque, which holds significant religious importance in Islam, and conducted prayers. This event is part of ongoing tensions as the occupation police continue to impose restrictions on Muslim worshippers entering the site.
The compound is anticipated to witness further tensions during the upcoming Jewish holidays. During this period, there is typically an increase in the number of settlers and hardliners who enter the complex and conduct prayers.
In other developments, Israeli troops arrested 15 "wanted" Palestinians during operations in the occupied West Bank, as reported by the Palestinian Prisoners' Club.
