JIF and JAMI to Implement New Medical Fees List on Saturday.

Amman: The Jordan Association for Medical Insurance (JAMI) and the Jordan Insurance Federation (JIF) have announced that increases in medical treatment fees are scheduled to begin next Saturday, differing from the fees list published in the Official Gazette. As part of the changes, the general practitioner's fee will rise by 100%, while specialty doctors will see a 50% increase, according to the joint statement released on Thursday. According to Jordan News Agency, the statement further detailed that doctors' fees for procedures listed in the 2008 fees list, excluding radiology costs, will increase by 20% in the first year, with additional increments in the second year. For new medical practices not included in the 2008 fees list, a draft 2021 fees list will be approved with a 50% reduction. The statement emphasized the importance of empowering medical doctors to continue providing health services to insured patients, in line with contracts signed with relevant insurance companies. Insured patients and insu rance beneficiaries are encouraged to contact their private insurance entities if any doctor refuses to provide medical services. Additionally, the statement advised patients to seek treatment from other approved physicians in the medical sector, as non-compliant doctors will be removed from all medical networks of insurance companies.
