Amman: The Jordanian Nursing Council (JNC) has declared its intention to form a professional and institutional partnership with the Karbala Nursing Syndicate in Iraq. This announcement came during the second visit of the syndicate's head, Dr. Muhammad Tufan Khalidi, to the council's headquarters.
According to Jordan News Agency, JNC's Secretary-General Dr. Hani Nawafleh described the meeting as a vital step towards achieving organized institutional collaboration. Nawafleh proposed the drafting of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) along with an executive action plan that includes a clear timeline to ensure practical outcomes beneficial to the nursing staff of both countries.
Nawafleh highlighted that nursing is a fundamental component of quality healthcare systems. He emphasized the council's eagerness to broaden its partnerships within the Arab world and to share successful experiences for the advancement of the nursing profession. The proposed cooperation focuses on developing nursing capacities, transferring knowledge, supporting training programs, and fostering a culture of clinical simulation. It also aims to exchange experiences related to the development of legislation governing the nursing profession.
Nawafleh further stated that the vision aims to contribute to regulating professional practice based on scientific principles and approved standards. He called for the exchange of Arab expertise to achieve more efficient and sustainable regulatory models.
Dr. Khalidi expressed his appreciation for Jordan's experience in regulating the nursing profession and developing its legislation and programs. He reiterated his interest in creating progress on a joint MoU and executive action plan, which would implement the cooperation vision and achieve tangible outcomes that benefit the nursing staff of both nations.
