Amman: The Jordan Academy for Government Administration and the Higher Council for Science and Technology have embarked on a collaborative project to map investment opportunities in Tafila. The initiative, supported by the Scientific Research and Innovation Support Fund, aims to create a local investment map based on evidence from applied research.
According to Jordan News Agency, the project will explore Tafila's potential in sectors such as energy, agriculture, industry, and tourism. It seeks to identify areas with significant growth prospects, thereby transforming available resources into viable investment opportunities and projects.
Mustafa Hamarna, CEO of the Academy, emphasized the project's importance in enhancing the capabilities of institutions and personnel involved in investment planning. He highlighted the value of data-driven decision-making in improving the quality of local investment strategies.
Mashhour Rifai, Secretary-General of the Council, reiterated the Council's dedication to supporting applied research that benefits society. He pointed out the role of scientific research in addressing national challenges and fostering balanced development across Jordan.
Tariq Muqattash, Director of the Fund, stated that the project's support aligns with the Fund's mission to finance research with economic and social benefits. He noted that the project's success will be evaluated based on its ability to generate real investment opportunities that aid Tafila's development and local job creation.
The project aligns with recently approved research priorities for the next decade and aims to establish a replicable methodology for other governorates, facilitating a national approach to identifying local investment opportunities.
