Amman: Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and Algeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, engaged in a detailed discussion regarding bilateral ties and regional cooperation. The conversation, held over the phone on Tuesday, centered around the complex situation in the occupied West Bank, which has been exacerbated by illegal Israeli measures, including increasing settler violence, settlement expansion, and repeated violations targeting the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to Jordan News Agency, both ministers expressed strong condemnation of the illegal Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank and criticized Israel's systematic attempts to change the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem, affecting both Islamic and Christian holy sites. They emphasized the potential catastrophic consequences of these actions on regional stability.

Safadi and Attaf also reviewed ongoing efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions in the region. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace and stability. In their dialogue, the ministers highlighted the importance of building on current de-escalation efforts, advocating for an agreement that secures a ceasefire between the United States and Iran. They stressed that such an agreement is crucial to ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and achieving lasting security and stability in the region.
