Amman: Minister of Transport Nidal Qatamin on Tuesday engaged in discussions with Chinese Ambassador Guo Wei to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation within the transportation sector. The talks centered on utilizing Chinese expertise to advance Jordan's transport infrastructure, particularly focusing on the railway system, localizing industries associated with major rail initiatives, and integrating modern transport technologies to alleviate urban congestion.
According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions also highlighted the necessity of reinstating a direct air route between Jordan and China to facilitate travel, trade, and tourism. Qatamin emphasized the deep-rooted relations between Jordan and China, advocating for these ties to be translated into practical collaborations that modernize the transport sector through advanced technological solutions, ultimately serving mutual interests.
