Cairo: Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Kharabsheh, engaged in discussions with Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, to advance cooperation in energy, natural gas, petroleum, and mineral resources sectors.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting, held at the headquarters of Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, resulted in an agreement to establish joint working teams from the Jordanian and Egyptian ministries. These teams will focus on enhancing cooperation in crude oil and mineral resources, developing joint projects, and exchanging technical and technological expertise. The goal is to improve production efficiency, maximize the use of natural resources, bolster energy security, and serve the mutual interests of both nations.
Minister Badawi commended the progressive Egyptian-Jordanian cooperation, emphasizing that it reflects the strong fraternal ties between the two countries. He cited the successful natural gas pipeline interconnection system and the use of the re-gasification vessel Energos Force at the Port of Aqaba as examples of this collaboration, which have significantly contributed to securing gas supplies for various sectors in both countries.
The Egyptian minister also pointed out the significant role played by Egyptian companies in executing natural gas projects in Jordan, notably the Fajr Jordanian Egyptian Natural Gas Company. He expressed Egypt's interest in exploring new opportunities in the mining sector to boost investments and develop natural resources.
The meeting was attended by prominent members of the Jordanian and Egyptian delegations, including key figures from the energy and petroleum sectors of both countries.
