Amman: Minister of Labor Khaled Bakkar met with Egyptian Ambassador to Jordan Khaled Abyad to discuss cooperation, focusing on labor affairs and the situation of Egyptian workers in Jordan. The meeting emphasized the importance of the electronic recruitment platform in regulating the recruitment of Egyptian workers and preventing their exploitation.
According to Jordan News Agency, Bakkar highlighted the "historic" Jordanian-Egyptian ties as a foundation for safeguarding common interests. He emphasized the Ministry of Labor's commitment to maintaining open communication channels to address any issues faced by Egyptian expatriates under Jordanian labor law. The minister expressed the Ministry's dedication to regulating the affairs of non-Jordanian workers, ensuring that labor rights are applied equally to both Jordanian and non-Jordanian workers.
Ambassador Abyad praised the ongoing cooperation and coordination regarding issues affecting Egyptian labor, aligning with the directives of leadership from both countries. He noted that Egyptian workers in Jordan are committed to adhering to labor laws and regulations, appreciating the support from the Jordanian Ministry of Labor and the Egyptian Embassy in Amman.
