Amman: Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC), Khalil Haj Tawfiq, announced that the chamber is organizing a visit for a Jordanian trade delegation to Baghdad. The delegation will primarily consist of sectors with strong opportunities to enter the Iraqi market as exporters, importers, or investors.

According to Jordan News Agency, Haj Tawfiq, during a meeting with Vice Chairman of Baghdad Chamber of Commerce (BCC), Raad Breij, emphasized the need to activate the joint memorandum of understanding (MoU). This activation aims to benefit both sides by building partnerships, increasing trade exchange, establishing investments, and fostering collaboration.

The ACC statement revealed that discussions included the inauguration of a Jordanian ACC-owned trade center in Baghdad. This center is intended to serve the commercial, service, and agricultural sectors by facilitating the export of goods and services to the Iraqi market.

Breiji noted that exchanging economic delegations and holding exhibitions are effective methods to enhance trade exchange and increase investment volume. He emphasized the importance of activating the memorandum's provisions.

He also highlighted the necessity of exchanging additional delegations, focusing on specialized sectors, and building a database to assist business owners in Jordan and Iraq. This would help in making informed decisions and developing a plan for investment, export, or import processes.

Breiji welcomed the ACC's decision to establish a trade office in Baghdad, considering it a crucial step to strengthen bilateral economic and trade cooperation. He affirmed the readiness of the Baghdad chamber to provide assistance and facilitation to ensure the office's success.

Breiji encouraged Jordanian companies to enter the Iraqi market and leverage available investment opportunities in sectors like housing, industry, trade, infrastructure, information technology, construction, contracting, and transportation.
