Amman: Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Kharabsheh, met with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul-Ghani, to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the oil and energy fields.

According to Jordan News Agency, talks were held on the sidelines of the Iraq Investment Forum 2025, as both sides reviewed prospects for expanding their energy partnership aimed to serve common interests. The discussions highlighted the mutual benefits of collaboration in the energy sector, emphasizing the importance of a stable and secure energy supply in the region.

Earlier this month, the statement said the Iraqi government approved the extension of the memorandum of understanding on supplying and transporting Iraqi crude oil to Jordan for an additional three months under the same terms previously in effect. This extension is seen as a crucial step in ensuring the steady flow of energy resources between the two nations, underscoring their commitment to long-term cooperation.
