Berlin: Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Senator Khalil Haj Tawfiq, and President of the Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce, Pietro Rampino, held discussions on boosting trade and investment ties between Jordan and Italy. The talks, conducted on the sidelines of the Arab-German Forum, also focused on youth training and employment initiatives.
According to Jordan News Agency, Haj Tawfiq announced that both parties agreed to introduce remote training courses for Jordanian youth in select professional fields. These courses will be conducted by Italian companies via virtual platforms, providing participants with certificates accredited by the European Union in collaboration with the Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce.
Additionally, Haj Tawfiq highlighted that the Arab-Italian Chamber, alongside the Italian Ministry of Education, will offer 25 fully funded scholarships for Jordanian students to study at specialized institutes in Italy. These two-year programs will grant students recognized qualifications, facilitating their entry into the Italian labor market. Haj Tawfiq praised the initiative, emphasizing its significance in developing a skilled workforce.
The discussions also led to an agreement for the Jordan Chamber of Commerce to act as the official liaison for Italian investors and business representatives exploring opportunities in Jordan. The Chamber will offer detailed information on legislation, investment incentives, and the business environment.
Simultaneously, the Arab-Italian Chamber will provide a platform to support Jordanian companies aiming to enter the Italian market or forge commercial partnerships. Haj Tawfiq underscored that these initiatives are expected to enhance trade flows and increase Jordanian exports to Italy.
The Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce, established in 2015, is backed by key institutions, professional bodies, and Italian banks. It is dedicated to strengthening Arab-Italian trade and investment relations and fostering broader economic cooperation.
