Beirut: Minister of Social Development and Chair of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Women's Empowerment Wafa Bani Mustafa met with her Lebanese counterpart, Minister of Social Affairs Haneen El Sayed, on Tuesday. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Arab Forum for Sustainable Development 2025, which is currently being held in Beirut over a three-day period.
According to Jordan News Agency, Bani Mustafa focused on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, exchange expertise, and review shared experiences in delivering services to target groups under the ministry's programs. She highlighted Jordan's accomplishments in implementing the National Social Protection Strategy along with its key pillars. Bani Mustafa also mentioned national efforts to launch the updated strategy next month.
Bani Mustafa elaborated on the ministry's programs and services aimed at supporting vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, orphans, individuals without family support, and the elderly. She emphasized the ministry's role in promoting productivity among low-income families to improve their economic conditions.
El Sayed, for her part, stressed the importance of exchanging experiences and enhancing collaboration in the field of social services.
