Rabat: Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation (JIEC) signed a twinning agreement with MedZ, a subsidiary of the Moroccan Caisse de D©p´t et de Gestion (CDG) Group, in Rabat on Saturday to exchange expertise between Jordan and Morocco in the industrial estates field.
According to Jordan News Agency, the memorandum establishes a general framework for cooperation in the development of industrial estates and economic activity zones, allowing both countries to exchange expertise and best practices across various stages of industrial estate development projects. The agreement emphasizes collaboration in attracting investments, enhancing industrial and logistical services for investors, and sharing knowledge in sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation related to industrial city development and management.
The agreement builds on previous cooperation frameworks and serves as a foundation for further collaboration. Both Jordan and Morocco have similar experiences managing and promoting industrial cities, according to a joint statement. JIEC Chairman Obied Yassin expressed admiration for Morocco's expertise in the industrial cities field and highlighted his company's interest in benefiting from this experience, especially with the launch of the Jordanian industrial estates transformation vision.
The vision aims to expand the scope of business from industrial real estate developers to developers of integrated systems, encompassing industrial development, logistics, sustainability, governance, and innovation. JIEC General Manager Uday Obeidat stated that the memorandum complements existing cooperation, with Jordanian industrial estates set to leverage Moroccan expertise particularly in promoting and attracting investment, as well as in the digital transformation of service delivery and supply chains.
MedZ CEO Marwan Abdel-Aati noted that the agreement lays the groundwork for cooperation, following joint discussions and field visits where both sides explored areas of development and mutual benefit amidst global transformations in this field.
