Amman: The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), following royal directives and in coordination with the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army, dispatched a food aid convoy to Syria. The convoy was sent on Thursday, consisting of 14 trucks, to address humanitarian needs in the region.

According to Jordan News Agency, the JHCO convoy was accompanied by a Qatari convoy comprising 27 trucks loaded with food and medical supplies. This joint effort aims to support Syria and alleviate the humanitarian conditions in the As-Suwayda Governorate. Coordination with the Syrian government facilitated the aid’s entry through the Jaber/Nassib crossing, and the Syrian Red Crescent will deliver the supplies to affected areas in As-Suwayda, including the city, western villages, and shelters for displaced persons in Daraa and Rif Dimashq.

JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli emphasized that the Jordanian-Qatari convoys were an emergency response to urgent needs following recent events in the governorate. He acknowledged the Syrian government’s cooperation in ensuring the successful delivery of aid and improving humanitarian conditions in the region.
