Jordan and Qatar Foreign Ministers Discuss Strengthening Relations and Regional Stability

Amman: Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani engaged in discussions focusing on enhancing bilateral relations and promoting regional stability. In their phone conversation, both ministers emphasized the importance of ongoing diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in the region.

According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions between Safadi and Al Thani highlighted the need for Amman and Doha to strengthen their ties. The ministers also stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy, urging all involved parties to commit to these principles. They called for the full implementation of agreements under the US-Iran memorandum of understanding, which includes measures to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, as a means to safeguard regional security and stability.

Both officials reiterated that Jordan and Qatar remain supportive of diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and achieving a comprehensive agreement. This agreement should address the underlying causes of instability in the region, underscoring the commitment of both nations to work towards sustainable peace and security.
