Cairo:Minister of Environment Ayman Suleiman held a meeting with Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley to explore ways to enhance environmental and climate cooperation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The discussion took place on the sidelines of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs at the Arab League General Secretariat.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministers emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two countries to address environmental and climate challenges. They discussed advancing joint efforts in climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable natural resource management.
The dialogue also focused on boosting Arab coordination on environmental issues and unifying efforts in international forums. This includes mobilizing necessary funding and resources for environmental projects and enhancing Arab countries' capacity to adapt to climate impacts.
Additional discussions covered the exchange of expertise in sustainable natural resource management, ecosystem protection, and climate change mitigation to support sustainable development initiatives in both nations. The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing on the importance of ongoing communication and coordination between relevant authorities to further their common interests and support joint Arab actions in environmental matters.
