Jordan and Switzerland Explore Strengthening Bilateral Ties and Regional Issues

Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi met with Ignazio Cassis, head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) of Switzerland, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations and regional developments.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting focused on increasing cooperation across multiple sectors. Both Safadi and Cassis highlighted their shared commitment to strengthening ties between the two nations. Safadi stressed the need to consolidate the ceasefire in Gaza, remove barriers to humanitarian aid, and advance towards a second phase of the ceasefire aimed at achieving a sustainable and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.

The meeting also addressed the situation in Syria. Safadi reiterated Jordan's support for the Syrian government's reconstruction efforts, emphasizing the importance of maintaining Syria's unity, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as ensuring the safety of its citizens.

Safadi and Cassis agreed to maintain coordination and joint efforts to benefit both countries across all areas.
