Jordan and Syria Explore Military Cooperation in Damascus

Damascus: Chairperson of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, met on Wednesday in Damascus with Syrian Minister of Defense Murhaf Abu Qasra to discuss bilateral relations and prospects for enhanced security and military cooperation.

According to Jordan News Agency, the two officials explored means of strengthening coordination and joint efforts to address regional challenges, particularly in border areas. Huneiti emphasized the importance of leveraging the capabilities of the Jordan Armed Forces to support regional stability and bolster the national security of both countries.

For his part, Abu Qasra reaffirmed Syria's commitment to close collaboration with Jordan and highlighted the deep-rooted ties between the two nations. He also praised the role of His Majesty King Abdullah II in promoting regional peace and stability.

The meeting was attended by senior officers from the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army.
