Damascus: The Jordanian-Syrian ICT Forum is set to commence in Damascus on Friday, organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship along with the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (int@j). This significant event will coincide with the opening of the 11th Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Exhibition on Thursday at the Damascus Fairgrounds.
According to Jordan News Agency, the forum is being held in collaboration with Syria's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MOCT) and will feature participation from both nations. Over 80 Jordanian companies will be represented, focusing on telecommunications, information technology, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and e-payment solutions. The event also aims to attract Jordanian entrepreneurs interested in exploring investment opportunities within the Syrian market, with approximately 75 Syrian companies and industry specialists expected to attend.
The forum will include a dedicated Jordanian pavilion showcasing participating Jordanian firms and over 250 companies from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Lebanon, and international technology and telecommunications firms. A ministerial-level dialogue session will review the current state of ICT and digital transformation sectors in both countries, featuring technical presentations and open discussions on priority issues.
Furthermore, representatives from the public and private sectors of both countries will engage in meetings to foster cooperation, investment partnerships, and direct networking. These meetings aim to provide Jordanian companies an opportunity to present their capabilities and investment prospects in the Syrian market, while also allowing entrepreneurs from both nations to explore collaborative opportunities and joint projects.
