New York: Jordan and the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste have signed a joint statement in New York to establish formal diplomatic relations. The agreement marks a significant step in strengthening the ties between the two nations. According to Jordan News Agency, the statement aims to bolster friendship and cooperation between Jordan and Timor-Leste, institutionalizing collaboration in various sectors. These sectors include political, economic, social, cultural, and scientific fields, promising mutual benefits for both countries. The signing ceremony took place at the Jordanian Permanent Mission to the United Nations headquarters in New York. Ambassador Mahmoud Al-Hamoud, the Permanent Representative of Jordan to the UN, and Ambassador Dionisio Soares, the Permanent Representative of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, signed the statement on behalf of their respective governments.
